Bruce Highway, Bororen crash: Two ute drivers in critical condition, Children injures

Two people are fighting for life after two utes collided with a total of four children on board on a Queensland motorway.

Emergency services were called to the Bruce Highway, south of Bororen about 11am on Wednesday after a Mazda ute and a Toyota ute collided.

The driver of the Mazda – a 45-year-old Western Australian man – and the driver of the Toyota – a 31-year-old Emerald man – both sustained critical injuries and were flown to hospital.

A 10-year-old boy who was a passenger in the Mazda received minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The passengers of the Toyota, a 31-year-old woman, a 7-year-old boy, a 4-year-old boy and a 6-month old baby girl all sustained minor injuries and were transported to hospital as a precaution.

All of the passengers’ injuries were deemed non-life threatening.

The Bruce Highway remains closed in both directions while the Forensic Crash Unit investigation continues.
