Ravens clinch playoff berth with 23-7 win over Jaguars behind Lamar Jackson's strong night: Result,

Backed by a night of timely defense from his Baltimore Ravens teammates, Lamar Jackson didn’t need to don a cape Sunday night to top the Jacksonville Jaguars 23-7. But in the fourth quarter, Jackson flexed his superpowers anyway.

With the Ravens holding a 3-point lead and the Baltimore defense having just forced a three-and-out to stunt any hope of Jacksonville momentum, Jackson pulled a video game move to deftly spin and duck under the sacking arms of Jaguars linebacker Dawuane Smoot.

By the time Smoot had circled back and began dragging Jackson down, the 2019 NFL MVP had already flung the ball 26 yards down the field, where emerging Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely was waiting to haul down the lob over two Jacksonville defenders.

Two plays later, Gus Edwards plowed home the Ravens’ second touchdown of the night, and six minutes later the Ravens officially improved to 11-3, keeping pace with the San Francisco 49ers for the best record in the league.

Jackson finished the game with 171 passing yards and 97 rushing yards. His rushing prowess was particularly vital after Ravens lead running back Keaton Mitchell went down with a knee injury in the fourth.

While the teams combined for 729 total yards, three turnovers and two missed field goals kept more points from lighting up the scoreboard.
