Valsana Hotel & Appartements Review, Arosa, Switzerland

June 2024 · 1 minute read

Restaurant Twist is striking yet cosy, featuring wizened wood panels, Middle Eastern-style wall hangings and copper pendulum lamps. Lunch is light and nutritious: you may find zingy strawberry gazpacho layered with cucumber and parmesan, or creamy courgette noodles with root vegetables and lemon cashew dressing.

This approach continues at dinner, where a menu of the day and à la carte options are available. The trout tartar is a delicate starter, while the mains –  such as a juicy venison with red onion marmalade or a fleshy pike-perch with roasted fennel, cumin and celeriac – leave you feeling light but satisfied. Desserts are irresistible, including vegan coconut-chocolate mousse with mango sorbet and edible flowers, or a red berry and dark chocolate explosion of mousse and biscuit. The outstanding wine list focuses on organic Swiss wines.

Breakfast is made from locally sourced ingredients, comprised of homemade smoothies, brilliant breads, cold cuts, unusual cakes, and cooked options such as porridge or scrambled egg with mushrooms and spinach.
